Frits Seegers
Born in the Netherlands, Frederik (Frits) Seegers joined CT Corp in 2010.
He served in various executive positions in Citigroup’s main markets, such as: USA, Japan and Asia Pacific. In 1998, Frits joined Citibank’s operating committee. Between 2000 and 2006, he was a member of the Citigroup Operating Committee and the Citigroup Management Committee. He was CEO of Consumer Banking for Asia Pacific, covering 11 consumer markets, between 2001 and 2004. Under his
leadership, this region was the fastest growing part of Citigroup. His last post was Chief Executive Officer of Global Consumer Group, covering all Citigroup retail operations in 27 countries of Europe, Middle East and Africa.
In 2006, he moved to Barclays where he served as a Board Member, and as the Chief Executive of Global Retail & Commercial Banking of Barclays plc, responsible for all Barclays’ retail and commercial banking operations globally through 2009.
Frits also served as Member of Supervisory Board of Bank Handlowy W Warszawie SA until June 2006 and Non-Executive Director of Absa Bank Ltd. from October 2006 to February 2009. He was a Trustee of the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco and is a member of the Advisory Council of the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
He holds a Master degree in engineering from Delft University of Technology, as well as an MBA from the University of Chicago.
